TECH 46350 - NETWORK MANAGEMENT AND DESIGN TECHNOLOGY |
(Slashed with TECH 56350) Course covers the technical aspects of centrally managed and distributed Wide Area Networks, with an emphasis on the techniques used to maintain and improve the performance of telecommunications and data networks. Students will use software packages to monitor the real-time performance of a network and to diagnose various networking hardware and software problems. Topics include the five stacks of network management (fault management, configuration management, performance management, security management, and accounting management). Examples of current specific network management products are reviewed. Prerequisite: TECH 36302.
